A new scene shows Mr. Shirley stepping into a small studio room. He explains that the video means to show the audience how to make ceiling tile backgrounds which are very portable and easy to move in and out for your photography business. Materials used in the Do it Yourself Affordable Photography Backdrop instructional video are then listed:
- 4 different types of ceiling tiles from www.decorativeceilingtiles.net. Size: 24×24 inches. Style numbers: 201, 204, 206 and 210. The tiles are Antique Silver faux tin and they are very light weight. A total of 16 tiles will be used for this Do it Yourself Affordable Photography Backdrop.
- Two insulation panels from Home Depot measuring 4×8 feet, which cost approximately $11.49 each. The two panels will be taped together in the middle to create an 8×8 foot panel on which the 16 ceiling tiles can be attached.
- Liquid Nail ($1.98ea) and a glue gun (approx. $2.00), both from the paint department at Home Depot. One tube of Liquid Nails will be enough to apply 3 24x24in tiles to the panels. It is important to give the glue at least 3 to 5 minutes to dry before moving the panel.

Steps of construction:
- Lay insulation panels flat on the floor and tape together. (Any kind of tape can be used; Mr. Shirley uses ordinary packing tape, available from Wal-Mart or Home Depot).
- Arrange tiles onto foam panels without glue first so that you can be sure that you are happy with the way your arrangement looks.
- Once you are satisfied with the arrangement of the tiles, stick tiles to the insulation board one by one. If any tiles fall off, simply add more glue and stick tile back onto the panel.
- Do it Yourself Affordable Photography Backdrop Set-up time: approximately 45 minutes.

from the floor and place it up against the back wall of the small room. He explains that the studio shown is in an older home, in a room of approximately 20×25 ft, which served as the dining room of the home. A fire place is hidden behind the backdrop. Mr. Shirley has simply leaned the backdrop against a hair light but you may choose to tie it up to hooks from the ceiling. For larger studios, Mr. Shirley explains that the same effect can be created by attaching the ceiling tiles directly onto walls (using the same Liquid Nails as with the insulation panels). Showing the final Do it Yourself Affordable Photography Backdrop, he repeats the necessary materials to be used in construction: 2 4×8 ft insulation panels, 16 24×24 inch Antique Silver faux tin ceiling tiles nos: 204, 201, 206 and 210, Liquid Nails glue. The ceiling tiles can be purchased from www.decorativeceilingtiles.net from a few dollars each to approximately $9.00.
Mr. Shirley thanks the audience and walks off scene. The finished Do it Yourself Affordable Photography Backdrop is shown by itself leaning against the back wall of the room, followed by several pictures of people taken in front of the same back drop. In the photos, young teenagers are posing in standing positions, or sitting in a chair, and the photos are taken from several angles, including close-ups.
The next scene shows Mr. Shirley’s business card, with six portraits of young people in front of different backgrounds. In the center of the card is Mr. Shirley’s website: DaveShirleyPhotography.com and an offer which says: “Get FREE Senior Wallets when you bring this card in at the time of booking!” Mr. Shirley’s phone number is listed on the top right corner of the card: 334-642-3283, and on the bottom left corner of the card is: “For more photography info, visit our Senior website! www.daveshirleyphotography.com
